Put Yourself In Timeout!!!
May's Relief Society
activity was so much fun as we got together as Sisters and enjoyed each other's
sisterhood while we learned how to better care for ourselves. Life gets so busy and sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves.
We had a great presentation
by, Sister Leslie Cordero, on how to properly apply makeup.
We held a raffle to
see which lucky sister would be getting the makeover.
... And the lucky
winner was our beautiful Sister Megan Markarian. We couldn't have had a more
lovely sister as our model... she has picture perfect skin!!

We also had a presentation on making a homemade face wash
by Sister Brandalon Fritz. This facial cleanser will leave your face feeling smooth and moisturized.
Sister Fritz also prepared an individual sample sized face wash
for everyone to take home fore themselves or for a
sister they visit teach!!
Here is the recipe
for the face wash if you'd like to make it yourself
We had a nice and refreshing food demo, by Sister Lori Cendejas, on how to make a yummy "stress-less" Smoothie!
Stress-less Smoothie
Recipe
1 cup ice
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 banana
1/2 cup yogurt
1T honey
1 cup juice
In a blender put ice and combine all other ingredients and
mix until well blended.
·
Fruits can be fresh or frozen
·
You do not have to use ice, but it helps to bulk
up the smoothie and keep it colder
·
Smoothies do not have to contain dairy products,
but if you like, you may use frozen yogurt or ice cream instead of plain yogurt
or milk
·
You may sweeten your smoothie however you would
like with honey, sugar substitute, agave, etc
·
You may use any liquid you like; milk, juice,
soy milk, almond milk, coconut juice or milk, rice milk or water
·
You can also incorporate other healthy foods
into your smoothie such as, oatmeal, granola, flaxseed, chia seeds or lavender
(either essential oil or dried) etc. The
oatmeal is especially convenient if you are on the go and want to take your
breakfast with you!
v
Strawberries and other fruits replace important
vitamins and nutrients that day-to-day stress takes from us and some are high
in antioxidants
v
Bananas are a good source of potassium that
helps to reduce stress
v
Lavender reduces stress and has a calming effect
